Hand in Hand Housing Program

Wellspring’s Hand in Hand Program has been providing Affordable Housing along with other human services since June of 2006. Many of Wellspring’s clients come to Wellspring because they are struggling to achieve or maintain self-sufficiency. Typically, several factors combine to make the climb to independence impossible for them and the unaffordable cost of adequate housing plays a critical role in this problem. Wellspring has developed an unusual and aggressive program for a specific client population that combines in-depth case management with housing support. The assistance that this program offers embodies Wellspring’s mission to provide skills and support to people facing challenges to their financial, physical or emotional well-being in order to help them achieve independence and self-sufficiency. The multi-faceted program called, Hand in Hand Program, is designed to effectively boost clients over these numerous obstacles to self-sufficiency. The Program provides case management and support social services (such as career counseling, computer training, adult education, personal finance & budgeting, basic life skills, or domestic violence & general counseling) for a defined target population while addressing the housing factor. The program provides affordable, group-setting housing for eligible clients so that they can concentrate on and become successful in job and life skills without the added stress of inadequate and unaffordable housing.
